lol I don't think so...I've seen a lot of people either on the news (no, not just CNN) and social media as well as public gatherings and rallies saying those very words to people even born in this country.  "You're not a real American!  Go back where you came from!"  Usually when the person responds that this IS their country...then they are faced with a retort somewhat like "Well you're not a TRUE American then if you don't support the President".

Recently a Florida mayoral candidate (who claims himself as a Trump supporter) literally told audience members at a debate to "go back to Africa then" because they voiced their concern about his support of some of the more controversial policies.

I give you credit for the imagination. However, the right are nothing even remotely compared to 2001-2009. The left are who have completely lost their marbles.

Who? Where? What were we talking about again?

Sorry I thought we were actually having an intelligent discussion?  Not being snarky...serious here.  I'm genuinely confused.

If you had just wanted to poke fun at whatever I said, for whatever reason you have in doing so (I was actually enjoying the discussion because it was nice to speak rationally to someone about this), I'm really not up for that.

I haven't insulted nor mocked you at all in this thread...so  I don't understand where you're going with some of your replies to me...I was actually trying to see the other "side" to things and have an actual discussion about different views, maybe learn something too.  Maybe I'm taking your wording wrong because it's difficult to discern tone online.  Anyhow, I do wish you a good night, and I'm gonna bow out of this thread as I don't feel it's useful to helping me understand others viewpoints anymore.  And I did want to understand the different viewpoints.

Take care.

I literally don't see that anywhere. It was unavoidable during the Bush administration. So I challenge your anecdotal stories and your retort is you're trying to get to the bottom of things and have an intelligent discussion.. you'll have to pardon me for my skepticism.

It's sad that whenever the President of the US gives a speech, people have to add a disclaimer afterwards...

It has become the norm. After the so-called president gives a speech, someone needs to go on record and present alternate facts to make his narrative fit, someone else needs to recant his speech entirely, and a third needs to explain to the nation what he really meant.

It win, after win, after win.

quite frankly, you sound a bit bored with the winning.
