IR1 Administration Process

Dears,

 

My wife an US citizen applied for immigration visa for me and our son at the embassy, and everything was going smooth, When we have our interview at the embassy the CO said your visa is approved, and they kept our passports and they said that we're going to receive them within week, but when i check case status its said :

 

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selects MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.

how much i have to wait, i'm waiting for a week and nothing happened

AP is open-ended and has no maximum duration. 

 

For a male from Jordan, it could be several weeks or months.

they going to keep my passport at embassy for several months, but i need it to do my work like travel

You can ask for your passport to be returned. They can then request it again when they actually need it.

i have check my case status the last update was yesterday, but my son case it's says ready for interview !!!!

its supposed to be like mine (his age is 10 months) , its normal to be like that?

PLEASE advise me, I'm confusing what will happened to me and my son what is the procedures, anyone have similar case IR-1 , IR-2 visa approved then AP and how much it will takes i can't wait for month or years

still under AP, am waiting there is nothing i can do ,,,

10 days, are you having your interview in amman us embassy?

Yes on Aug 17 I've got everything evidence, documents, tax returns, w2, photos, bank statements from the petitioner, conversations. the only thing I'm worried about is the AP.
