Anyways, in regards to "fake media", "fake news" and whatever you're trying to get at, you're not making any sense with this.

I'll try to spell it out as clear as possible, but I'm not responsible for you not understanding.

"Then there’s her husband who was once the director of One United Bank,” he continued. “Never heard of it? Well in 2008 One United Bank got a $12 million tax bill bailout after Waters convince the treasury department to take up the case.”

That statement fits the common definition for "fake news" utilized on these forums and by Trump. It is an outright falsehood. Either Carlson knew it was wrong and went along with it, or accidentally was wrong. Either way, when that happens on places like the Washington Post people here are quick to claim "fake news", so I am merely doing the same here.

Carlson is "fake news". He is using misinformation to help his point. Her husband was never the Director of One United Bank. That is fake.

Tucker isn't a news reporter, he's a pundit. Do you know what a pundit is?

You're comparing pundits to news reporting. Just an FYI.

Do you know what a pundit is? Tucker is far from an "expert" on this topic considering he got his information wrong.

He is a political commentator who works for Fox News. He should be expected to have his facts straight just like every other commentator on other news channels.

Tucker is an expert on his own opinion. Just like Bill O'Reilly, just like Rush, just like Olbermann, just like Maddow.. except the latter two like to make their users think they're merely relaying information, the people who watch Tucker don't do so expecting unbiased information. So there's nothing fake about it.

Clearly you don't understand the concept of fake news, it's just something you don't want to hear and merely turn around and attribute it to things you don't like. I would suggest taking the time to understand what fake news really is.

Do you know what a fact is?

You can't have an "opinion" about whether or not someone was the Director of a bank. That isn't an "opinion-based" piece of information, it is a fact-based piece of information. You can't just "agree to disagree" on the topic. I can't say "I'm President of the World" and when you say I'm wrong I just respond "Well that's your opinion".

Fake News is when you obscure the facts or use misinformation to suit your agenda. Doesn't matter what side you are. "Fake news" should have no sides. It is when facts are misrepresented, information is "made up" in order to suit your needs. That is exactly what Carlson did. Text book example really.

He's a pundit, who does a purely opinionated segment where he shows things in a light that fits his narrative. This isn't obvious because you're under the opinion that everything must conform to the way you see things.

If FOX News had Tucker doing their press releases as something that passes off as news, it would be called fake news. Tucker is not a news source.

The concept clearly eludes you, and it's your own doing. Best of luck fixing that problem, though I doubt you have any intent to.

Are you being serious right now? Don't quote me if you aren't going to actually read what I said and respond to it. This seriously sounds like a joke right now.

In what way is "Her husband was a former Director of One United Bank" an opinion?

It is a very very simple question that is seemingly going over your head. That statement is not an opinion. It is an incorrect fact. It is misinformation.

So him giving a statement you see wrong suddenly moves him into a news reporter category from being a pundit who does opinion..

He works some magic with you.

That isn't a statement that you can "see" as wrong. It just is wrong.

Look up her husband. He was never the director of the bank. I'll repeat myself - that isn't opinion, that is fact.

It's crazy that what a fact is seems to be escaping you.

Actually, from what I can find former Ambassador Sidney Williams (Maxine Waters current spouse) was on the board of directors (2004 through 2008) for OneUnited Bank and is still a shareholder, so what part of what Carlson said was fake news?

Umm, he was a member of the Board of Directors and therefore a director of the bank.  It took about two minutes on Google to confirm this fact.

I was going to wait while I was back at my office to reply since I'm in a conference on my phone.

Hopefully people on these forums recognise that I will openly admit when I'm wrong. I've done so in the past and will continue to do so. As I said at the beginning, I knew very little about this woman before this thread.

When I quickly googled her husband the articles (I think I read 2) stated he owned shares, they didn't specify he was on the board (great poignant example of misinformation that isn't wrong, but just misleading). I read those and ran with it. That is why I said the issue with the bank has valid corruption concerns, I just didn't have complete information.

Obviously I am wrong. Thank you for pointing it out.

If a doctor makes a false statement on a news channel without anyone properly correcting him/her, the channel is peddling in fake news (in my opinion). I'm blanking on his name but there is a particular snake oil/CT surgeon salesman who has a TV show that comes to mind. He can stick to his show, but if CNN, Fox etc... What him on one of their news shows and let him spew nonsense, that's fake news in my eyes because they allow him to spread misinformation as if it is true (he tends to not make statements with any hint of doubt, he claims things are absolutely true/effective). They have a responsibility to do more than that.
