hi all..i saw the post about the age..and i remembered that i've readed somewhere on a website reasons why a visa can be denied and i saw there that is a maximum age diference between the fiance's...dose somebody know what's the maximum age diference alowed between fiancees? how older can he be than u and to dont have any problems? i know it sound silly but i know that's important also..and my fiance is kinda older than me. thanks :help:

Dora, you have to put it in context: what are the cultural norms for the country in question etc

In some countries, it's a normal for the man to be 20+ years older than the woman.

In some countries, it is very unusual for an older (native) woman to marry a man many years younger, so a US/foreign reletionship that goes against the local grain might be an issue.

In a lot of countries, age gaps make no difference immigration-wise. My husband is 12 years older than I am, but that is not abnormal in our cultures. Your age gap seems more akin to 'normal' for the US--how is it for your country?

When the gap is "very large" or out of step with cultural norms that can be a cue that the marriage might be solely for the immigration benefit.

Amber&Neil,

Age difference isn't a problem. Marrying a USC to get into America and a green card is a problem.

This is interesting to know because I never even thought of a big age difference being a problem. .....

I think in your case you will not have any problems when it comes to age difference. For sure, the consul will questions if a certain couple is more than 50 years older. But if the couple is really in love, age will just be a number. Me and my husband is 10 years apart. Im 32 and he is 42 and we dont feel old.:yes:

Of course he's still young at heart, he's only 34 for crying out loud! It's not like us people who are in our 30s need a walker and a hearing aid at this age.:lol::lol:

We expect a red flag for the age difference at the interview. He is 16.5 years older than me, he is 44 and I am 27. But there is nothing I can do, my dad is 9 years older than mon, I guess I wanted to exceed that.

You will be fine, you don't have that much of age difference.

Men can be a LOT older and not cause red flags. The red flag as mentioned is if the USC fiancée is much older than the non-USC fiancé. However most cases are approved.

I am the USC fiancée age 41 and my fiancé is age 26 (15 years difference), but we got the visa fine (even though in India if the fiancée is aged even a year older it is frowned upon).
