I applied for a J-1 harship waiver. My visa expires on 8/26/17.

11/3/16   Case received by USCIS

3/27/17   USICS requested non advisory opinion.

Since then case is pending with DOS. Was wondering if anybody had recent experience of timeline from DOS.

Thanks

No I am a internal medicine resident on J-1.

Ok.

I've seen cases like yours be resolved in a month to 4 months at the DOS stage. I think you should be fine but maybe have a Plan B. I think your J-1 can be extended. You could try to get an extension on the J-1 and then it will be terminated when you get the waiver.

Well I got it so in that sense it went well but it took me much longer than I expected so it was stressful in that sense

Nice, congrats!
did you experience an issue with USCIS website not recognizing the receipt number?
how long did the whole process take you?

DOS received my documents on Nov 23 2018 (not i-612/i-613 yet though)

Thank you
