Hello all,

My wife and I are going through this arduous journey, currently our case is sitting at the NVC in what seems like for ever.

The NVC received our documents on 01/18/2017. On 03/31/2017 they sent us an email requesting additional documents (which were included in the original package ) so we sent them right away. It is now 6/14/2017, I have called them and they said my case is still pending review. They didn't give me an ETA or anything, just pending review.

Has anyone who sent their documents to the NVC around January have a similar situation? Also can someone give us a timeline so that we can benchmark?

We would like to compare dates.

Thanks

Unfortunately when you get an email requesting additional documents (also known as a 'checklist') it usually resets the waiting period. Currently NVC are advising that the waiting period between when they received your new documents to processing those documents is 11 weeks (which you should just about be hitting depending on how fast they arrived at NVC).

You can find out more about the current waiting times and compare your progress to others over in the IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports section of the forum here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/134-ir-1-cr-1-spouse-visa-case-filing-and-progress-reports/

My lawyer sent in the package, I hope he did. They got everything else just weird that they were missing one document. I asked my lawyer about the missing document and he rechecked the copies they had sent in, and it was in there. My lawyer did say that sometimes they do that as stall tactics. So don't be surprised if you get a "Checklist" so that they have more time.

Thanks for the info, according to my lawyer that seems to be like a stall tactic. Of all the documents, they said they were missing the marriage certificate, really??  seems like BS. But oh well.
