ROM and changes with citizenship?

Hello,

 

Just wondered when we file our ROM to report the marriage in the Philippines, will anything happen with land if its in my wife's name? We hadnt planned on doing the ROM since we just found out about it.... now worried about this. Also with the time line if we dont file the ROM without 12 months?

You don't have to file the ROM in any given timeline, if you go beyond the 12 months they will just want a reason why. When your asana does the ROM it does not change her citizenship at all. She can still keep and own land there. 

If she wants to keep using her maiden name on her passport then she does not have to do the ROM at all.

Land in your asawa's name isn't affected by ROM, the marriage certificate shows the "paper trail" of the name change.   My asawa has land deeds in both her married name and single name ... no issues.  Relax, complete ROM if you so choose.
