Hey all,

My fiancee and I just received our NOA2. On our I-129F application, we had indicated that our desired consulate was Chennai, India, but since my fiancee has moved since then, we wanted to schedule an interview in Mumbai. Will this be possible?

Also, does anyone know if, for either of those embassies, I (the petitioner) will be allowed to accompany my fiancee to the interview?

Thanks!

Hey, they received our RFE response on May 15th and our notice date was May 24th (though the mail didn't arrive until today). Hope that helps!

I have the same problem, but I m still waiting for NOA2. According to tier 2 USCIS officers and NVC officers. After you get the NOA2, you can change the Embassy location by calling NVC. But you have to call them before your packet leaves the NVC. They will generate a new case number for Mumbai US Embassy and your packet will be sent to Mumbai.

If they have already sent your packet to Chennai US Embassy, it might cause delays in your case. You have to wait till Chennai US Embassy receives your packet. And then you have to call Chennai US Embassy to ask them to transfer your case to Mumbai US Embassy.

Your second question, each embassy is different. Some US Embassies are allowing petitioners to come with the beneficiary, but most of them are not.

Hopefully, this will help, and you better call NVC first thing in the morning and let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the info! I got through to NVC and it seems our application was sent to Mumbai after all, so no need to do anything. Good luck to you in your case!
