We had our interview at 8:00 this morning. RFE for bank statements, they asked if we could fax them today. Of course we did, we had them faxed in by 9:30 AM.

We certainly hope that we are done. As soon as we can, we will be booking our tickets to Russia for a long and well deserved vacation.

did they indicate approval upon review of your bank statements? Any questions about the previous AOS situation?

They didn't say anything about approval. It was a pretty short interview. They asked what happened last time, and asked if I still wanted to be married (obviously yes). Then they asked if we could fax our bank statements today (which I guess is a good sign).

Marriage evidence. It didn't need to be joint accounts, just in her name and going to the same address as my accounts. (We have joint accounts too, but don't use them as much).

Our health/car insurance is joint.

Update:

Green Card was approved yesterday. (Case status says to expect the Welcome Letter, blah, blah, blah.) I had just printed out a stack of papers that Galina needed for her Grad School class today and stuck a printout of the online notice in the middle.

She skipped over it at first. Then I asked her to read more carefully. Silence! Then a great look of relief.

This is a big deal, as we can now book our tickets to Russia for the summer. She is on the phone sorting out the details and dates with her mom now.

So, responding to the RFE within an hour worked out very well.

It has been a huge month. Driver's license (passed), Green Card (approved), Grad school (acceptance pending GRE next week). I think the GRE is a formality at this point; Galina has a 4.0 undergrad GPA, 2 grad courses done, and glowing letters of recommendation from the professors in her department.
