We are still waiting for case number not even close yet. But we have a misdemeanor charge and we want to have an idea what they will ask so we can be prepared. We have court record with final disposition but would consular officer ask for more ?

You are getting close, after you get your case number you will be able to get your inteview date.  They will ask for a copy of the whole court process for that arrest.  You should start getting those papers now. That way once you go to the interview you hand it over .  Ours have taken time because he has more than 1 arrest.  And it takes 30 business days to get documents in his country.

I don't think it is a big deal.  The time span since the occurrence shows someone learned from the lesson.

I have bad stuff from that age and hasn't been a problem in life.   I am a naturalized citizen and didn't naturalize until 30.

Post back results so others behind might use the help.  The US is a very forgiving country and the petty theft is not a big deal.
