Hello,

I have seen conflicting answers, do I need to bring a copy of the I-864 we filed when we submitted the AOS request? Also, do I need to bring my latest W-2, most recent pay stubs, latest tax return, and updated letter from employer if all of that was already submitted last Summer? The instructions say to only bring that if you have not already submitted it, but people on here post saying to take a copy of what you submitted along with updated supporting information. We already planned to bring a more recent Tax Transcript as proof we filed taxes together this past year.

Thank you.

I'd bring it. They probably won't ask for it, but IF they do, you'll be happy to have as much info as you can. You may also be asked for originals for everything you submitted, so just be prepared.

In our case, the IO asked if we had any additional evidence of our relationship on top of what we already submitted. We actually gave her more personal items, such as a print-out of our photographer's blog post about our wedding, and a document my siblings put together with funny stories about us. But that may be the moment you present your tax receipt showing MFJ filing.

The interview itself wasn't very much to worry about if you have a genuine relationship!

Even though it's not strictly required, it's good to bring a complete copy of the AOS packet that you submitted alongside new supporting evidence (including supporting documents for the I-864). The immigration officer will go over your application during the interview to confirm what you suggested and correct any errors. It can't hurt to have your original I-864, alongside new evidence, if only for your own reference (i.e. you can think of it as the "complete" I-864) and to help you cross-check with the officer.

Married to US Citizen. I'm the beneficiary.
