Australian man sues American Airlines for $100,000 after getting crushed by two obese travellers - and flight attendants refused to let him change seats

I didn't know you could do that!  I still remember a red eye flight from Phoenix to Detroit, I was planning on getting some sleep and though it wasn't quite the same story as this guy, I had a man and his son sitting next to me.  The man was easily 400 lbs, and the son was a bean pole.  I had the aisle seat and the big man decided he would sit in the middle with his son on the window.  Talk about seat stealing, I should have sued as I only received 2/3rds of a seat.  This man was so big that a male flight attendant actually asked him how much he weighed.  In my opinion he should have had to buy two seats.  Needless to say, no sleep that flight, and yes, it was also American.

A man is suing American Airlines for $100,000 after he was crushed by two obese passengers during a 14-hour flight and left with permanent back and neck injuries.

Michael Anthony Taylor, 67, claims airline staff refused to let him change seats on the flight from Sydney to Los Angeles, despite his desperate pleas to move.

The Wollongong man says he was forced to crouch, kneel, brace and stand throughout the lengthy flight, which also aggravated his existing condition of curvature of the spine.
