Sure it could, but it says FOX. What other news channel needed a slogan like 'fair and balanced' for something that had generally been implied by news coverage up until that point. FOX was really the trailblazer for pushing the limits of fake news.

when pressed on the "fair and balanced" label, the fox folks clarify that MSM is so out of wack liberal that when they report on Christmas being canceled they are just "balancing" the equation out.

I see virtually equal criticism of Trump and praise on most of their shows I watch on livestreams. Not counting Hannity who is clearly a Trump slappy and it gets tiresome. One can count on pundits to at least divulge the fact that they're biased, instead of act like their views represent independent thought and logic while colluding with specific candidates. Corruption incarnate.

In recent years I haven't watched much CNN but rarely ever do they have balanced opinions.

In terms of news, they know their bread and butter are conservatives so they tend to prioritize news that conservatives like. I wouldn't expect any network not to do this. OTOH, there's far less issue with FOX colluding with Presidential candidates during their campaign to help them win. Quite the opposite with Democrats.. or rather, specific candidates like Hillary. Impossible to trust that kind of sleaze.

So, I find FOX way above CNN in terms of reputable.

Little remembered fact that Murdoch endorsed Obama for 2008.  Murdoch is not behind Trump for multiple reasons but does not want to piss off the Admin that runs DOJ and FCC. As the market ages I expect that the routine views on Fox will change ( their market is dying faster than the other networks, sad but true)

It really is the echo chamber affect.  If I have a view and want to kick back with my msnbc red wine / what ever CNN folks drink / fox miller lite on the commentary front you are going to watch the view point that agrees with you.  I don't want to ruin my evening getting riled up about Hannity, I want my own flavor of idiocy. Cable news is closer to entertainment than information.

Pretty much. Even with FOX I think I watch it once every few weeks, if that. Not much of a TV person in general. Mainly turn it on to watch sports.
