YIKES! I sure hope you've contacted them to find out what the deal is! I know they just updated their Processing times to October 13th (or near that). That's pretty close to your 11-1-06 NOA1. I would call again.

Jim&Gemz, can I ask if you had any special issues that might hold it up? Did you have a divorce or tried to do the 1-129F in the past? I just wonder if those with different circumstances get held up for whatever reason.

I've never filed for any visa before so no IMBRA issues there. I did have a very recent divorce before filing but I included a notarized copy of the final decree and a full page letter explaining the 6 year separation that preceeded it.

Jim&Gemz and jlcross - I just cannot imagine what you two are going through. I was about batty at day 127. It seems like cruel and unusual punishment to me that you two have been waiting so damn long.

What about you, jlcross...did you have anything like divorces or something out of the usual that might slow your packet down? I have a very straight forward, easy divorce as well but back in 2000.

I wonder if they just started the Security/BAckground Check with my touch and now we wait til the all-clear. Not sure why someone in the UK would have to wait a long time for a background check though.

I'm just rambling...trying to make sense of all of this. This is really putting a strain on everything in my life right now...I just flip out on my guy sometimes which doesn't help things... :(

Your profile says Lebanon for beneficiary's country. ?? Or is the beneficiary (not sure if its you or your fella) a UK citizen living in Lebanon?

Regardless, I think being in Lebanon may be the crux of some of the problem. Unfortunately, they probably scrutinize people living there moreso than people living in the UK.

Is it fair? No - but that sure seems to be how it is.

You sure have been waiting a long time, too. Have you all contacted the USC's congressman or senator for help?
