So I'm contemplating applying for citizenship. And they want the address history for the last 5 years (even if it's foreign) This question also applies to the I-130 that I will file for my son next month. This is what happened. I received my visa on December 10, 2012 at the Montreal consulate. I lived in a border town in Quebec about an hour from the Vermont Border. I took my visa , at the time, to the Vermont Border with my car (the one I planned on importing and driving down to Houston with). I wasn't sure if the paperwork for my car was in order so I gave the CPB guard my passport with visa inserted. He stamped it with the date CR1 on December 14th 2012. However, I wasn't ready to move, my car wasn't packed and I was missing some paperwork for my car. So my residency started December 14 2012, but I turned around at the border and went back to Quebec, stayed at my brother's for a month while I got all my importing paperwork together and personnal effects to drive down. So, I don't know how to list that gap, but I only managed to get to Houston Texas, with that same car a month later. So should I list myself as living in Canada between December 14, 2012 to January 20th 2013? Should I list myself as having visited Canada for a month? (Sounds kinda silly...) Should I explain this entire 1 month gap in an addendum? Should I say I didn't have a permanent address in either country for that month gap because I was in the process of moving?

Thanks for your input

Why you call this a FIASCO?? You scared me! :D

But I dont understand the problem... you put in an US address in the DS-260 right? Who was that a friend or family? So use that and once you got your new place, that would be the next one, which I guess you reported as an address change to the USCIS. The Canada one (or more, if applicable) would be the very first in line and after that the US. Its not uncommon for people to go back to their home countrys after activation for a while to clear and prepare the final move.

Really? Hmmm. I was moving to Houston to be with my ex husband. I put our apartment address in Houston on the ds260. As a matter of fact, I don't even think I listed that month gap when I removed conditions. I hope that's not a problem..
