Does birth Certificate and Police document report need to be translated?

When I visited my fiancé in Moldova we got the birth certificate "officially" translated along with certificate of no crime, and certificate of no prior marriage. To get an "official" interpretation by a notary (their version of an attorney) you may have to wait for months. My fiancé knew someone, we gave them $, he  paid "under the table"the secretary of the Notary and we got our docs translated the same day. I submitted the translated docs (copies) with our I-129 K1 visa application.

 I would recommend you get them translated.

There are online translation services where you can scan and upload/send the document and get overnight translations.
