ROC out normal processing time

Hello Everybody,

My case is out of normal processing time. I want to know what my options are ? I have already filed the e-request and other requests in the phone. I want to know what else can I do? So they can notice my case. We sent our case December 28th, 2015 and they receive it January 4, 2016 and still nothing.

THey are just going to stamp my passport? Or they can help with getting the GC faster?

Yes, if you fill in your timeline, it will make it easier for others to help you. 

Can you contact your ombudsman or member of congress or senator? They might be able to help you get things moving!

Nothing will speed up the process, aside from possibly contacting the ombudsman, senator, or congressman - all of which *may* have a chance of nudging it along. 

Those are your only options besides just waiting. 

 

And yes, it sucks.

I haven't used a congressman since my K1 visa, but they were invaluable. I'd definitely recommend trying it. Mine was really helpful - their office called USCIS HQ and really put pressure on them to get things done. They found out about the then-transferring of K1s from VSC to TSC before any of us knew what was going on, and could explain why because he actually spoke with humans. 

If you're outside time and want it chased up, congressman/senator is a good shot. In my experience, the senator took ages because he is so busy. I had answers from the congressman before the senator even got back to me.

They will be able to tell you what is happening with your case and Its status. You cant, unfortunately, speed up the process

mindthegap, have you had any update on your case yet? Did you ever find out why they terminated the interview? Your timeline is unbelievably slow and your patience seems to be unrivaled.

The first interview in January was scheduled in the original state that the I-751 was filed in, but having recently - just 2 weeks prior to the interview - moved my driving license to another state, despite my USCIS mailing address remaining in that original state, it was terminated before it began.

Got as far as the office, and after taking the oath and being asked for ID, as soon as they saw it was not ID from that state, I was immediately sent back out. 

There was a bit of back and forth with a questionable  supervisor who asked amazing questions like 'which state did you sleep in last nite? Aha! See - that means you aren't resident in this state any more!' 

Querying why exactly that was an issue, given a) it is a federal program, b) that I have successfully done multiple infopass appointments in multiple states all over the US,  c) my current mailing address remains in that state, and d) that it has been almost two years since filing, all fell on deaf ears, and I have heard nothing whatsoever since.

 

 

However, a couple of days ago, I went for my second (!) extension stamp, as my first one expires in the very near future.

Immediately asked why I was there, and told that I had been marked as a no show for an interview that had been scheduled right at the end of March.

Bloody news to me, given they didn't mail out a notification at all, and I have never had a single piece of USCIS mail go missing.

According to the person at the infopass, you can miss two interviews before denial. I have not heard of this before, and not really sure if this is accurate, given the (in)accuracy of many of the alternative facts that some USCIS staff seem to dish out, and I strongly suspect that I will now have a notice of denial on the grounds of failure to appear winging its way to me shortly, which will then have to be addressed fairly sharpish.

 

As a consequence, I have immediately filed

1) a fairly blunt and comprehensive complaint with the ombudsman (45 day response time apparently) , and

2) a request for my congressman to assist.

 

My patience is all but gone with these clowns.

This is having a massively detrimental effect on many aspects of my life right now and I really do not know why this has been delayed so much.

It is beyond ridiculous, and I am extremely angry with them and the sheer incompetence that is being exhibited .

 

 

 

 

ps-  for one particular member who may be reading this, they did NOT take my expired GC, nor did I ask for it back (forcefully or otherwise) - it was handed back with my freshly stamped passport.

That is absolutely horrible. I can't even imagine being in that situation. I would be an utter mess. Hats off to you for getting through that. I hope things start to go smoother for you from here on out.
