Hello! Our case was delivered to the Philippines on March 20 and I've been calling the embassy to check if they already have it and they still don't. How long does it usually take? Also, would it be alright to have my Medical Exam at St. Luke's even if the case isn't at the the embassy yet? Thank you in advance! ?

You can check CEAC status to know if you case file has reached the embassy and is ready for your interview.

But I would not sit around waiting for that to happen.  Most case files are delivered to the embassy within two weeks.

You have your MNL# !!  Do not sit around burning daylight!   Follow the flashing arrow below and get started!

If you are on a phone here is the link  http://visaconnection-philippines.com/index.php/2-visa-process/3-usem-k-1-visa

The embassy might not tell you info over the phone honestly..

And as long as you have your NVC case number (MNL**********), then you can set up the medical and get it done yes. Just take a copy of the NVC case letter with you as well as the other required items.

Can check your case status here also under "Immigrant" visa using the MNL case number : https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=WwjqOlbeRYzCYubaSQI+RA==    Once it says "Ready for interview" under status then you can also set up the interview and pay online or at BPI.

Leave about 1-2 weeks between medical and interview.

Also you can go a head and complete the CFO course, you just have to return later after you receive approval at the interview and have visa in hand for the final stamp/certificate for immigrations. http://www.cfo.gov.ph/

Also go a head and get your birth certificate( couple copies) CENOMAR, NBI clearance, any police reports if needed ect.

No reason to wait for the status at CEAC to show ready for interview before starting to complete everything.  Total waste of time.

No reason to WAIT two weeks (or even a week) between medical and interview, as the medical file is hand carried by the applicant to the interview these days (with a couple exceptions).   Heck even in the days (over two years ago) when the medical file was delivered to USEM by SLEC the embassy stated at least 5-7 days,

Thank you! My fiance got an email from the NVC and he forwarded it to me, would that be okay? Also, how long have you waited for your case to be received by the embassy?

Yes having copies of the NVC letter are fine.  Print out copies to bring to your medical at St. Lukes.

Do follow the flashing arrow below for a guide to all the processes for completing your visa chase in Manila.

Also, is it true that the Medical has an expiration date? If I do my medical early would there be a certain number of days for it to be valid for the Embassy to accept it?

Medical is valid for 1 year.

The validity of the visa is tied to the date of the medical.  Maximum of 6 months for the visa validity.

6 months is the length of validity of the medical. Plenty of time to complete everything.

Medical is valid for ONE year.   The visa validity is 6 MONTHS for day one of the medical.

Yes, the medical has an expiration date of 6 months,  and that is also for the visa as well when you get it. So if you get the medical na but then do the interview in say 3 months, the visa will only be valid for 3 months before it expires. So what alot of people do is the medical on a monday and the embassy say on thursday or friday, it all depends. My asawa had to do the medical one month and the embassy the next month due to having to fly up from Davao.

Medical is good for ONE year.

Maximum validity for the visa is 6 months, starting from the first day of the medical.

Sorry I did not clarify that about year and the six months part of validity. But the majority of people just want to know how long the medical and visa is valid for one they are approved for it.

Yes I understand.  But 6 months validity for the medical is a wrong answer, if that were true most would have to complete a new medical in the USA for AOS...
