Submit documents to the NVC

Hello. My name is Gemalyn. I am in the process of petitioning my mom from the Philippines but I am having trouble understanding the next steps. So my joint sponsor and I have completed the affidavit of support form and obtained financial evidence. These documents are ready and they are in a folder. The next step is to collect supporting documents. I don't know what that is. Also which method is better to send the documents through email or mail? When sending these documents, do I have to include a cover sheet?

All documents needed for NVC/USCIS are best sent by mail. Send with a receipt of acknowledgment/signature.  Any documents you send to the Philippines the best and safest is email. For any documents needed as original documents should be sent FedEx to the Philippines.  As you may know, PhilPost is not reliable and thus should not be used for any documents.

I'm confused. What documents do I have to send to the Philippines? What are the documents it's asking when it's said "collect supporting documents "? As mentioned in the post my joint sponsor and I already finished the "affidavit of support form" and gathered all the financial documents.

NVC will send you the following list of documents needed.  

This was the list sent to us a few weeks ago.  Hope this helps.

Is this for my joint sponsor and I to complete? Do I need to include my mother's photocopy passport and birth certificate?

If you are petitioning for your mother, you will need to provide her documentation.

Affidavit of Support is to establish your financial capability of supporting the intended immigrant.

The supporting documents are to establish the intending immigrant's (beneficiary) identity and background.
