Is e-Notification Form (G-1145) Mandatory?

I am getting ready to mail out my N400 application and i wanted to know if the Form-G1145 (e-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance) is mandatory or just optional. Many thanks.

I think there is no accompanying cost with the G-1145 so if it makes one feel more at ease and at peace to avail of it, then it is a good thing to have.  Good luck to you.

It's optional, its not mandatory. I did it though so that I knew instantly once they received my application.

I included G-1145 , got text and email notification after 10 days I sent my application. It's only 1 page and just your name and contact information, that's all. Good luck sunshinestate2013! :)

Not mandatory and I did not include it. As soon as I received my NOA, I loggedin to my uscis account and opt to receive text/email for future update of my case.

Finally I'm a 🇺🇸 Citizen!!  

06/10/2008- GC

02/28/2017- N-400 sent!

03/02/2017- Received

03/07/2017- Cashed

03/07/2017- NOA

03/30/2017- Biometrics

04/03/2017- in line for interview 

08/21/2017- Notice for interview
