Question about other Names

I do not know if this matters but I recently acquired a Passport of 1/17 through my Nationality through my parents and they had to make a Chinese Name (Which is a very new name) for my passport, Will I receive a RFE if I did not put my newly made chinese name on my I129-F and G-325A?

I'm sorry, I don't understand. What do you mean "newly made name"? Did you change your name?

No I didn't change my name, in order to get a Taiwan passport they had to create a Chinese name for me also, my original name is also in the passport. I hope this helps...

Oh I see... didn't know it worked like that over there

 

I don't see that it will be a problem since this "alias" was created after the petition was filed. However, which name would you plan to have/use for your documentation? (visa, green card etc.) When you fill in the DS-160 you will enter again, all other names used. At that point you could enter also the new name and add an explanation at the interview. This might add time if they need to do extra security checks due to it.

 

Option is to contact uscis and open a service request to add name information to the petition. The USC will have to have this contact since they are the petitioner and you could ask to fax in a copy of the passport pages to be added to the file. I don't know what the answer to this would be but it would be worth a try.

 

In the end, at one point or the other the new alias should be added to your information and it should probably be fine to do this at the embassy (DS-160 and interview) visa stages, if as I said the new passport name was generated post-filing.
