I have probably spent as much time as you in BG checks but I have a rather optimistic attitude in the sense that I think it could be worse. Sure, I am disappointed since it took them 73 days to approve my green card so my expectations were high. There is a law mandated rule that USCIS MUST make a decision within 120 days after the interview and this is why they do not schedule interviews before they know everything they needed to know.

Glad to announce that I am a US Citizen finally.  It was a long journey.  Really appreciate everybody in this thread for all the info, support and experience sharing! 

Good luck to everybody still waiting for interview!! It's just a big test for patience.  Hang in there!! God bless!!

@casualuser you never know what to expect in the whole process. I have my interview next week at the Raleigh-Durham FO and i am seriously worried.

I've been told that's a very common occurance these days. There are all sorts of little reasons why we don't get approved on the spot.

Yes...about a week. Interview was 09/12. IO was actually looking at earlier schedules for me but she said they were booked solid. All the more reason I was surprised to have seen the "decision cannot be made"  box checked.

I actually called the customer service again today. Tier 1 officer said there are no updates on my case yet and i have to wait at least 120 days before a service request. I then asked to speak to a Tier 2 officer. He was such a nice guy and informed me that i am scheduled for my Oath Ceremony in 8 days!
No updates online (last update i had was "Interview is scheduled"). He said they mailed out the letter this Monday so hopefully will get it today or tomorrow.
