First of all thanks to God and to all VJ members for all the help and info. i got from here.

Today i had my interview done and got Approval for my CR1 Visa in US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. And the interview was very easy just lasted for 5 minutes and the CO was very polite and cheerful.

I am just writing this to give a hope for everyone still in the process and to give an advice to be relaxed because i experienced how to be so nervous before the interview and just be well prepared.

Thanks,

Kareem

Congratulations Kareem!!!

So happy for you!! Thank you for your advice and as well your review, I read it earlier. Reading your review and other recent ones coming out of Cairo, has helped Ahmed and I feel much more confidant. We still have not gotten case complete at NVC, but hoping to get one soon. I wish you tons of happiness and prosperity with your wife and new life in America. :)

ENSHA'ALLAH you will get your passport the next week .

Know that there's nothing to worry about especially after you saw the magical word ISSUED.

Download Aramex app it's very helpful, you will get a notification on it when immediately your password move from the embassy.

Enjoy your days in Egypt

@Ahmed F It can take up a to a year and usually a bit more to complete the CR1 immigration process.

Here are the most recent interview reviews at Cairo US Embassy. http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Egypt

Hope this helps and good luck with your immigration journey. :)

@Farrah The amount of time it takes to process a CR-1 Visa really depends on which USCIS service center your petition is processed at; those who's petitions are at Potomac tend to process much faster (under 4 months) and those who petitions are at Nebraska, is extremely slow (6-7 months); plus the length of time it takes to get case complete at NVC, which now they have increased the review times to 8 weeks, which is actually taking longer (10-13 weeks).

To be honest and not to sugar coat the situation, the immigration process is much slower than last year. Even with constant monitoring (like I do), it is not guaranteed that your case will be processed any faster. I think it would be ideal for you to check other time lines and see that the average for CR-1 is actually 1 year.

Wish you tons of luck and a speedy process. :)

Thank you for responding. That is what I was figuring that it will be close to a year. I am going to file the I-130 this week. I live in Minnesota so will my service center be Potomac? I was married before and my ex husband was from Egypt but this was back in 2011 and I was living in Egypt and at that time we were able to file all of the papers at the embassy in Cairo. We had a very easy case and it was fast. I am hoping because my husband lives and works in Riyadh that he has a good experience. Thank you for your well wishes and the same to you also ?

We just got Case Complete!!!

I'm not sure if you will go to Potomac or not, but I sure hope you do. :) I heard Riyadh embassy is nice, so hopefully when you get to the interview, it will go by smoothly. Insha'Allah all will go well :)
