Ok, so we received our Welcome letter in the mail Jan. 8. We waited for three weeks, and when it didn't arrive, we called the customer service line. They put in a service request (or something along those lines) and told me if I dont hear back in 6 weeks, call again. Well, 8 weeks have passed, and nothing, so I called again, and they put in another service request. We need to go back to Korea in May, so the lady on the phone told me to make an Infopass appt and talk to them.

So we went there today, and all I have to say is that they are rude, impolite *@#*&@#$.]!!! I won't even get into how rude they were to us, but they said that card production was ordered a couple days after the welcome letter. Since it was, we would have to pay $260 to get a replacement card!!! Are they freakin insane? I paid enough of these stupid fees so that these lazy ####### ppl can slowly process my app and now they want $260 becuase I never recieved the card???? She said if they recieved the card back from USPS as undeliverable that was one thing, but they never got it back. But becuase her computer says that the card was produced, we have to pay $260 to replace a card we never recieved!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She says that I can send in the I-90 app without a payment and write an explanation, but she knows that they are just going to say I have to pay. Then I told her that I had called the Customer Service center twice, and she just rolled her eyes and said that they don't have that any info about Customer Service, like she cared. She told me either pay the $260, or don't get the green card.

Funny thing is, we never got an email saying that the green card was produced. The last thing we got from USCIS both from emails and in the mail was that the welcome letter.

Why do I have to pay $260 to replace a card we NEVER recieved??? WHY??? I am so pissed, and the USCIS is a dept full of morons.....

any suggestions???

Wow! How unfair! You should make another infopass appointment, ask to speak to a different person, and let them know you never got an e-mail saying the card was coming, and insisting on the fact you didn't get a green card, or a notice from the post office about any issues delivering post to your house, 'cus making you pay another $260 for the card is absurd!

Are you sure it didn't arrive? If you have any mail lying around check that. The card comes in an unmarked envelope and looks like junk mail to the untrained eye. Is it possible you shredded it and threw it out thinking it was junk?

Honestly I think you might just have to suck up the cost here. If they produced the card and somewhere along the way it dissappeared, its going to be hard to prove that that was USCIS's fault, especially as the card wasn't returned undelivered to them.

I was in the exact same situation as you.... I never received my Greencard after it was mailed..... and YES you will have to pay the fee for a new card.... I contacted my congressman and senators and nothing can be done if they say they mailed it and you never got it it is not they fault, it is the fault of the USPS.... it can take months to get the new card but what you can do is once you have filed the I-90 (I did it by e-file) take the receipt you get to print , to your local office and ask for the I-551 stamp, tell them you wish to travel....

See my timeline in my signature for date of how long it can take....

I agree with Dr_LHA. YOu will have to pay this fee if you want your green card. It's one of those things in life that everyone knows is not fair, but you will have to swallow it. The longer you dwell on how unfair it is, the longer it will take for you to get your card. Just ask someone to fill out the application, give them a check and FORGET ABOUT IT...
