Dear all,

My wife and I are filing for my remove of conditions and are in the process of putting together all sorts of proof, writing cover letter etc.

There is a bunch of random question we have regarding this and any help would be appreciated. The forum is useful but finding certain things can be difficult.

1. Do I have to write two checks for the two fees that we have to pay when filing or can I write one single check in the amount of 680$ ?

2. I honestly do not remember if I ever had a USCIS account number  I do not think so, all I had were the tracking number numbers for the several applications during AOS. If I have one, where would I find it ? And if I have one but can not find it, is it acceptable to leave the field empty or would that disqualify my application ?

3. In terms of gathering evidence, I made copies of my health insurance identification card that clearly states I am my wife's dependant. Is that sufficient proof or do I need to get a specific statement from the insurance company stating the same ?

4. We made copies of our joint credit cards. We also got some statements from our bank accounts where both our names are mentioned on the address field. Is that enough proof of financial union ?

Thank you for every helpful answer.

:-)

There is a bunch of random question we have regarding this and any help would be appreciated. The forum is useful but finding certain things can be difficult.

1. Do I have to write two checks for the two fees that we have to pay when filing or can I write one single check in the amount of 680$ ? One check is fine.

2. I honestly do not remember if I ever had a USCIS account number  I do not think so, all I had were the tracking number numbers for the several applications during AOS. If I have one, where would I find it ? And if I have one but can not find it, is it acceptable to leave the field empty or would that disqualify my application ? We had the same problem.  When I tried to log into Elis it wouldn't let me so I put NONE in the blank for the USCIS number and explained in my cover sheet that I wasn't sure if we had one because I couldn't find it.  Hope it won't be a problem.

3. In terms of gathering evidence, I made copies of my health insurance identification card that clearly states I am my wife's dependant. Is that sufficient proof or do I need to get a specific statement from the insurance company stating the same ? This should be enough.  You can always add a copy of the listed benefits sheet from the insurance companies website.

4. We made copies of our joint credit cards. We also got some statements from our bank accounts where both our names are mentioned on the address field. Is that enough proof of financial union ? You will want to add credit card statements too.  The bank statements part is good.  We sent all statements from the time we opened our accounts to the time period we sent it in.  It may have been overkill but I didn't want to take any chances for a RFE.

Thank you for every helpful answer.

Thank you for the help !!! I will do it that way, I found out yesterday that for some reason I can not type N/A into the field. Very annoying. So I will fill out everything else typed, and then add the N/A by hand.

One of the affidavits of support is lacking the title line :"subject: affidavit of support for..." Is that  reason to worry ? :-(

I'm not familiar with what that is.  Hopefully someone else will know.  Sorry.

I wouldn't worry about the absence of subject line. They see enough of them; they'll know what it is.

Incidentally, although writing n/a in by hand totally solves the problem, you can also just type na and they'll know.

So guys,

Finally we are pretty ready to file and there are, as suspected, some last minute questions:

1.We used normal staples to bind some of the categories of proof together. Is that acceptable ?I should say that our package is only a few inches thick, not as heavy as some others.

2.What way of shipping do you guys use ?

3. The address for the service center seems so...Simple...I did not see any specific directions for c/o, attention or such....Is that correct ?

All needed is

USCIS California Service Center
P.O. Box 10751
Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-1075

4. Last one, how do we get the notifications regarding the status of the application ? When we filed for the residence you could track it easily, will it be that way now too ? And if so, how do we get it to be trackable ?

So excited to finally get done. Best wishes and thank you so much.

I'm almost 100% positive you cannot use any staples.  I believe their instructions said not to.  Some used the plastic, clear sheet protectors to put items that have multiple pages to keep them separated and then use a huge clip to put everything together.

2.What way of shipping do you guys use ?

We used USPS 2nd day delivery with tracking number.

Yep address is simple.  You can write I-751 ROC Packet on the front of the envelope if you would like.  I forgot to do this and my packet was still delivered fine.

All needed is

USCIS California Service Center
P.O. Box 10751
Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-1075

My understanding is that once you receive the biometrics letter it will have a receipt number on it that you use to track the progress of your case.  It is taking up to and over a year to process the removal.  You will receive first a letter that extends the green card for 1 year that allows travel and employment.  After that, you will receive a biometrics appointment letter.

So excited to finally get done. Best wishes and thank you so much.

Hope this helps.  I'm definitely not an expert so if I am wrong, I'm sure someone can correct me.  Best wishes to you also!
