Entering the US with GreenCard

Hi VJ Geeks,

I have a question concerning the admittance stamp I found in my passport after entering the US last week. Hubby and I had been on holiday, and at POE the officer stamped my passport and put in "ACP (or ACR, can't read it properly) 10 days".

Now, he asked us how long we were gone, and we were actually gone 10 days, is that what it means? Do they count the time you are outside of the US until you apply for citizenship?

Last time I came back from Germany, my passport wasn't even stamped.

Any insight, anybody?

Thanks!

P.S. I apologize if this is the wrong forum...

Are you sure it isn't ARC? ARC = Alien Registration Card aka Green Card.

I believe it's ACR = Alien Conditional Resident (or something like that).

My and my son's passports were stamped the same way when we returned from our vacation in the Philippines. I didn't notice if our time outside was noted on our passport (need to check that when I get home).

Thanks everybody.

I checked again and it really is ARC (duh!). Funny though how they sometimes register the time "outside" and sometimes they don't...

Anyway, thanks for putting my mind at rest!
