Hi there Ladies, this is Sherwin, Bernie's wife. I've been reading VJ since forever although its my husband thats really active here coz way back in the Phils im a working lady with grave yard shift (anyways enuf of hat coz im here in the US too). Well, i can relate to everybody here about being home sick. Been here in the US for more than 3 months now and i cant count how many times i cried when we are driving seeing their hi-ways & traffic here. REminding express way in laguna, makati traffic. I never felt the homesick thingy when im in FLorida for the first 2-3 weeks before we start driving coz Bernie's parents and so as Bernie are so supportive and caring. But when we start driving already that when the homesickness start. Seeing those tall building - i remember my work place (MAKATI). the traffic. when we stop i remember i can go to my sisters house to hug my nephew and nieces ( all those stuff)

i cnt say that i totally adjusted here but what im doing is im making myself busy. cant get TFC since we are always in the truck so all i can watch are local channels but what i do is i view my friendster accoun., watch filipino videos on youtube.com ( they post filipino movies & shows there too). Since i like travelling as well adn photography, Bernie got me a new camera that im using while we are travelling. Im takings pics of almost all new places that we've been. The welcome signs (am i pathetic or what?) and right now im doing some self study about web page design so i can gain more knowledge and im creating websites so i can post my road trips and my photographs. It still inder construction right now but in a few weeks im also adding page on the site where you can post your philippine experiences (all about the philippines that you miss) feel free to explore te site and check it out .... WWW.TRIP2PHILIPPINES.COM

Good luck and God bless to everybody!

Hello again everyone!

Just arrived from back-to-back trips here. A few days after Vegas, we had to fly to Boulder, Colorado for business. It was not a honeymoon trip plus my son was travelling with us so no hanky-panky for us  . Dusa si hotDoug ko hehe.

I haven't figured out how to post my wedding photos here so please bear with me. I'll figure it out when I find the time. Busy lang talaga. I will also start updating my long-neglected list.

Thanks for the update Mae. I can relate to the homesickness. I thought I was ok here, did not feel sad or homesick for maybe 2 weeks then all of a sudden, while driving along a highway here in WA, I saw what looked like South Expressway along Laguna and then I just started feeling homesick and then cried. Bigay kaagad ng tissue ang aking bf este asawa na pala. Haaay, Philippines, kahit magulo at mabaho, it's still home. Have a fun wedding day. Remember to always smile for the camera!

i am a truck driver and sherwin is with me in the truck now. we have been to almost all of the continental states so far, except MN, ND, SD, NE, IA, WY, ID, WA, OR, VT, and RI. and i guess we did all the paperwork right bcz we did have to go to canada 2 times already and had no problem with immigration either time.

Thank you for the update, Bernie. I see lots of those gleaming big trucks here in WA. Gee, how do you keep them so clean after those long trips? What a fun job! Criss-crossing coast-to-coast! But it must be painful for the bum-bum ;)

Which hotel that you can recommend me and how long did you get your marriage license? Did you have to make appointments or reservations first...ohhh sooo much questions, sowee. Huhuhu i think we can't make it before July 30, "sayang" hehehe. But we'll still try.

There are many great but reasonable hotels to choose from in Vegas. Depends on how much you want to spend and your taste. You may want to go to www.expedia.com to check them out.

Regarding the marriage license, just show up at the marriage bureau, no appointments required. You can get it in less than 30 minutes at:

Marriage Bureau

201 Clark Avenue

Las Vegas, Nevada 89155-1603

(702) 671-0600

Open daily 8am-12midnight including holidays

Fee: $55

hey PRETTY WOMAN (PW) CONGRATS! just wondering where have you been...lol.....i thought you gonna pick up the date JULY (13)..hhahahahhaah.......regards.....:thumbs::thumbs:

Hi Jasmin. I've been burned by Friday the 13th twice already kaya lucky 777 naman

hey there PW have fun waiting for all the paperwork SSN EAD an AOS lots of fun the screw ups keep coming an coming with them. even our state senator Senator ED Kennedy said he cant believe how incompitant the immigration dept has gotten. his office puts over half of its resources just into dealing with immigration mistakes which are usually immigration DEPT errors. Yove had to wait 3 months to get her social secruity card because the people at the hanover office made the mistake over an over again misspelling her name. it took a call to kennedys office to call there office to get someone to look at what the problem was. yove been here over a year and she still hasnt gotten her AOS card

Hi Danoco! Yeah, looks like we have no choice but to have fun while waiting. People like me with no SSN are non-entities here in the US. Non-existent! Can't open a bank account, can't apply for jobs, can't do anything much! Oh well....

Hello guys! I just uploaded some of our wedding photos: http://www.friendster.com/davidandmae. They're not very good shots but these were the only nice ones from all our wedding photos. We didn't have a professional/official photographer and even our wedding videos got screwed up. The "cameraman" - David's brother, didn't press the record button so the entire tape was blank, nada, zero, wala. :crying: Oh well, what matter most is we are now officially married. Anyway, we got some pictures taken by our guests so we'll start bugging them and collect what they got. :P

Sheriff,

I read the posting you wrote and i thought it was putting some humor in a subject perceived to be overly heavy. Don't let some of these guys get to you and make you change how you do things and what you do for the rest of us VJers. You added a humorous response to Sheryl's 1st post and we have found you to be very helpfull.

So, F#@& them if they can't take a joke.

Hello, All

We were finally approved today after 8 months of paperwork, waiting, stress, and nervousness. She arrive at 6 am and she was done at 9:30. The Interview was very systematic and quick, and they only asked questions from the DS-156 and some basic questions about us like, our names, our ages, our occupations, and how and when did we meet. It was suprisingly easy. I know i haven't been very vocal in this thread, but all of you have been such a blessing to us in this entire process, just being able to visit this thread made us feel like we were not going thru this process alone. Your words of wisdom was just what we needed to get thru silence of "no updates" which could drive you crazy. I speak for myself and my beautiful future Bride, when I say

THANKYOU !
