I thought I'd share our interview experience with you all

The interview went pretty good. First she swore us in, then she asked for our ID, passports, and birth certifercates. The she asked for proof of any joint assests we had together, which we only had 3 items, 2 bank accounts and proff that he had been added to my insurance package thru my job. Then she asked to see any pictures that we had. We showed her some of the wedding photos, she asked who was there, and I told her and there was a group photo us all of us. She then asked Neil if any of his family was there. He told her no and that we were planning on renewing our vows in JA next year on our anniversary and that his family and which ever family members of mine that were going would be there.

Then she asked me why I hadn't changed my last name... And we told her that I wanted to wait until we renewed our vows on our anniversary, which she was ok with ( I was kind of worried that it was going to be a problem). She asked for my check stubs and income tax returns then she asked me were I worked, how long I'd been there and what my position was. Then she asked me if I had brought the phine bills from when he lived in JA?? I told her I didn't have bring them because it wasn't listed in the form of things to bring. The she wanted to know how and where we met, and how many times I been there to visit him. She looked thru my passport to verify what I'd said. She then asked if we had been on any short trips or a honeymoon. Which we told her no because we were saving that money for the trip and wedding in JA which would be in June. Then she asked if I had any kids, how many and if they lived in they house. She really didn't ask Neil very many questions, it was like I was the only one being interviewed. The only questions she asked him was his name, address, phone number and birthdate, and of he was working yet. Then asked me if went to the K-1 interview and if we came back to the states together. She then started checking things off in our file and said everything looked good and that he would receive his green card in the mail in 2 weeks. She also told us we would need to file to lift conditions 90 days before his green card expires. When you go, take everything you have, including the things from your K-1 interview. Just in case they ask for it they may not, but it's better to have it just in case.

wow...i only hope our case stays in cali....

I saw a question that I thought would be a good one to ask here in this particular forum.

How would you feel about your SO viewing a gay porn website?

 I'm sorry, that's funny! Especially because of the Jamaican anti-gay culture. Tony screams if they so much as show 2 gay guys kissing on a movie!

Rhonda...I think you should pierce early too. I got mine at about 7 or 8 and I was traumatized. I never wanted to pierce another thing. I have seen mothers holding their babies at Walmart to get the piercing done. The baby girl is nursing from her bottle...then lets out this loud shrill...then it's over. :crying::unsure:

Are they hard to take care of when they're that little? I am going to be so over-whelmed by all the other stuff I have to learn......

Not really, just clean them a cuople times a day. It is better to do it early, I did both of my girls when they were about 2 months old, and never had a problem.

Things seem to be so overwhelming now but trust me when that sweet likkle baby gets here.... Your mother skills will kick right in

What has to be done to remove conditions? Do you still need proof of relationship and an interview?

We're in the process of it right now. They're way behind as they are in everything! You need to send lots of proof that you're in a legitimate marriage and living together, etc... There may or may not be an interview - I think it's at their discretion. I have heard that if you did NOT have an interview for AOS (like the people who got forwarded to CA) you WILL have one this time around.

Hey, who's removing conditions? Yardiewife?

Ladies, we need to chat this up if you are doing it. I am a little stressed about it already. Very nervous.

Nothing to worry about. As long as you're in a legit marriage and you have nothing to hide you'll be fine. Just make sure you have lots of stuff in BOTH of your names.

Ohhh...you are a lot closer. Rhonda is removing conditions now? Rhonda post your experience okay.

Thank you!

Not much to post yet. I have the exact dates in my signature at the bottom. We sent the paperwork in June. We had his Biometrics appt. in July. We re-scheduled it with no problem because we were going to be out of town during the original appt. They took pics and fingerprints and we were out in about 20 minutes. Haven't heard anything since then. I think they're currently working on January so it will be about 6 more months before we get looked at! When you get the NOA, it states on there that your GC is extended for 1 year. Between that NOA and your expired GC, that is your proof of residence until you get the new GC.

Go for a carrot cake...I am sure you can have a piece on your diet...it being a veggie and all

Jamie, I LOVE the way you think girl!!!:lol:
