My husband can care less about clothes. I try matching up stuff for him all he says is as long as their clean, he don't care. I'm hoping when he comes here he will care a little bit about fashion.

Are you sure he's Jamaican??? :o:lol:;)

Anyways I am excited to have passed...hopefully I can pass the rest. Working for the county would pay almost 40% more plus all the great state benefits. Plus once you are in you are in

It sounds great! Good luck

Congrats Ebony! That sounded so easy

Congrats Shauna! You should be good to go now

Well back in April I applied for a job with the county sheriffs office as a records specialist. I went in for civil service testing yesterday (which was pretty hard honestly) but I passed everything with great scores. Now I have to wait to see if I am selected for oral boards (scored interview by a panel including the chief examiner) if I pass that I have to go through background checks and polygraph testing. Then they combine your scores from everything and make a list of the top however many and choose from that. Trust me it is quite the process and they say it will be another 4-6 weeks til they choose someone and it has already been almost 2 months! Crazy!

Anyways I am excited to have passed...hopefully I can pass the rest. Working for the county would pay almost 40% more plus all the great state benefits. Plus once you are in you are in

Good luck Jamie

Don't feel bad I'm the same way. As a woman you would think I love shopping but it's the total opposite. I could care less. My daughter on the other hand is something else. I try to shop for her but most of the names she's calling out I have NO IDEA!!!

I feel 'ya. Hubby and daughter can shop all day long  Not me. They always go shopping without me.

So guess what. I've finally decided to let CSC be....wasn't looking for an approval until next month. Well as I was lurking around in the K1 forum I've noticed ppl were calling USCIS to check status (only if a touch was done). So I said what the heck...cld them up followed the prompts to RFE line and voila they confirmed my petition was approved on 5/11 and will recv a notice w/in 30 days. After my last "false info" I asked "are you sure" and he was like "yes ma'am". I asked again and the rep stated laughing. He then said you filed for your husband Javon and I said yea. I was speechless so he asked if I was still there and I said yea just in shock!!!

Congrats

I found out lately that my fiance has lied to me on more than one occasion, once about a very important issue. I think I'm close to approval or at least an RFE because my file was touched for the first time in over 4 weeks.

Sorry to hear that Wayne. I had an issue w/ my hubby lying to me on a couple occasions - one of the times it was a HUGE thing that he lied about. I ended up forgiving him, but it does make it very hard to trust him sometimes. (We were already married when I found out the big lie) Whatever you do, do not worry about what everyone else thinks. This is YOUR life, your future, and your love - you have to do what makes YOU happy  You still have time to think about it - even after your approval, it still has to go to NVC, then the embassy, then wait for an interview date. Hang in there.

I know we talked about this before but what is the cheapest place to rent a car in MoBay? Dwain needs to move his belongings to his mothers house. He has many items he will not be bring up to the states. He told me the cheapest he could find is 150 dollars a day and he has to rent the car for at least 2 days. Is there any better options out there?

Thanks

Jax

I've seen lots a few people here experienced problems in their relationships and I admire the stength shown by some of these women.

I found out lately that my fiance has lied to me on more than one occasion, once about a very important issue. I think I'm close to approval or at least an RFE because my file was touched for the first time in over 4 weeks.

I'm just not certain anymore that I want to go through with this. She admitted her lies and I still love her a lot, and that is the only thing that keeps me holding on right now.

I could take the easy way out and forgive her, but I just don't know. I have a big dilema. I have to footing all the financial bills in this relationship and I know it's going to be hard on her if I stop the process, but the lies are bothering me to such and extent that I don't think I can go on with her,

I have made a few friends and family members aware of this and I'm sure I would be laughed at if I should continue and bring here but I love here so much I'm tempted to forgive her. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

Wayne

Sorry to hear :(

The thing about relationships, they aren't about what OTHER people will think. The question you have to ask yourself is, 'Can I deal with it?'

I often find that when someone lies to me, the best thing to do is try to understand why they lied. That for me is more important than the lie itself.

Only YOU know whether you can deal with her behaviour, try not to care what others may think, they see the bad times, but they aren't there for the good times....

I know it's tempting to be able to vent to close friends and relatives, but it's something I try not to do for just the reasons you've mentioned - this board would be FAR better to vent on because no-one here knows you, whereas your friends/family most likely remember what you've told them and possibly keep bringing it up.

I wish you all the best in finding the decision best you you, but remember YOU are the best person to make the right one for you...

So guess what. I've finally decided to let CSC be....wasn't looking for an approval until next month. Well as I was lurking around in the K1 forum I've noticed ppl were calling USCIS to check status (only if a touch was done). That is WONDERFUL news!!!!

I can imagine how you must be too scared to celebrate after the last false alarm, but this has been a LONG time coming!!!

Wait until you have that hard copy in your hand and then go wild!!!

Congrats!!!!!

Can't even imagine when I'll be able to type that!!

On another note, I'm slightly apprehensive about a new complex we might be moving to. I can't drive (SHAMEFUL I know!) and the complex he's looking at is two miles from the mall/bus stop etc.

So which is more important, being able to take the bus if I want to or having all those comforts....Choices choices huh?

You could always get a bicycle and use that to get around - no you probably don't want to do that 6 months pregnant  What about taxi service in the area? Not for everyday, but once in a while when you're feeling extremely restless and need to get out it might work. Or you're just gonna have extra incentive to learn how to drive soon! I love amenities so I would choose the one with the pool and all that.

You know, I never even considered a bicycle!! I love cycling, but American roads scare me, they are MUCH bigger than English or Jamaican ones, I'm even slightly apprehensive about CROSSING them!!

I'm not too worried about before I have the baby, I will probably just waddle around the house lapsing into my impression of a beached whale every so often.

It's more when I think about getting a job or when I'm home with the baby and my fiance has gone to work and my son to school....

Definitely would get a taxi for the odd time, and his mom said she'd be more than happy to take me whenever I wanted to go...

The pool is a HUGE plus!

I know of no apartment complexes here in London that have one...My son taught himself to swim in Dec, so he'll think he died and went to heaven lol...
