In Line For Interview - How Long is "too long"

Hi All

Just wanted to get an idea of how long people are currently waiting inline for interview. I know this depends on the backlog of the local field office and can vary.

I am using Sacramento field office which is not one of the busier ones, so I am somewhat surprised not to have an interview scheduled as yet (I have been inline since December 14th). I often hear of interviews being scheduled within a month or so of being placed inline.

Any other experiences would be appreciated...

Thanks!

Looking at other VJ's timeline for Sacramento ASC, you are looking at at least 2 to 5 months waiting between the bio appointment to the interview appointment. So plan on waiting until May/June for the interview. Hopefully that won't be the case! :)

I've been inline for over a month now (San Francisco office).  The processing time for N-400 in SF currently states they're doing June 2016 and I filed in August, so I expect at _least_ another 2 months wait.

Sacramento says they're doing June applications, too.

I note that neither field office has updated their time estimates since November, mind you.

I think we just have to keep twiddling our thumbs. :)

Yep it would seem so! For some reason I just got the impression that the waiting period between interview scheduling and date confirmed was relatively short....and you're right, the stats on the various field offices haven't been updated in months, which isn't helpful!

Good luck with this final part of your journey, I think we followed a similar timeline out of London. Keep me posted if you do get an interview date confirmed!

Timeline

They say it should be updated by the 15th of the month for the month before so December 2016 should have been updated by the week of Jan 15th so they are really behind, hopefully we see where things are as at December 31st soon. https://my.uscis.gov/helpcenter/article/how-often-are-uscis-processing-times-updated
