Conditional Resident Card same as Permanent Resident Card when it comes to traveling and needing an entry visa in other countries??

HI All

 

So my hubs has his 2 year Conditional Resident Card and we would like to travel (finally woohoo) to another country say Aruba, Bahamas, Cayman Islands...for a long weekend in the sun to escape the dreary cold winter here in NY but I have tried to search for his need for a visa for certain countries and they all ask If he is a Perm Resident he doesn't need a visa for 30 days to many of them so ....the question is - is a conditional resident the same as a perm resident in this aspect ? Thoughts?

 

I don't mind having to get it I just don't want to waste time at all these consulates fro an answer if I don't need to.

Yes. It is a permanent resident card.

Conditional Permanent Residence

A conditional permanent resident receives a green card valid for 2 years. In order to remain a permanent resident, a conditional permanent resident must file a petition to remove the condition during the 90 days before the card expires. The conditional card cannot be renewed. The conditions must be removed or you will lose your permanent resident status.

But check which countries he can travel with the resident card vs visa. We can go to Canada and Mexico with the green card, but we need to get a visa for other countries like UK.

I know that some islands in the caribbean accept the green card only, others need the passport as well (passport and green card), and return ticket.

Yes I was looking at Turks and Caicos and I think he does need a visa....so confusing !!!! ?
