For those of you who have had experience with the US Embassy in India (New Delhi, specifically):

Do consulate officers visit the homes/neighbors of the Indian citizen as part of the interview/investigation process? If so, in what circumstances, if any? Does anyone have any experience with this? Very important that I find out more about the chances of this happening...

This is the most judgemental post i nay have ever made in my life... 

 

The guy is cheating you, get out and get away! I have just helped another lady on a forum similair circumstance.  Plain immigration plan.

 

it is obvious to everyone but you.  Leave please or PM to me his details i will help you.  Cant see women being fooled like this.

Embassies contract out investigative firms that send clandestine staff out to the field. If they harbor suspicions, COs may contact family, banks, employers, etc. Experienced consular officers seem to have a sixth sense, esp if there are certain flags in an application. 

I know of one scenario where the CO reached out to a New Delhi visa applicant's employer prior to interview, following which the visa was denied.
