Wait to file taxes before sending ROC?

Hello. I'm a year out from the next step in immigrations; our window will open up at the end of January 2018. My question is should we wait until we are able to file taxes (and get the transcript) before sending ROC docs? Just wanted to avoid an easy RFE if not having 2 years of taxes warrants one.

Last year I filed my taxes early to include the 2015 transcript for my N400 application. Filed my taxes on 1/29 and the IRS transcripts were ready on 2/4. So you could potentially delay your I-751 submission 10 days to 2 weeks to include your 2017 transcripts.

You could file taxes with him. Since he lived with you all last year. You can't go without doing any years without taxes. As long as he has SS# you file joint tax return.

Yep he got his SS# right away when he got here last year so the issue isn't with not filing taxes at all. My question was if I should wait until our taxes have been filed for 2017 before sending the ROC package as the window will open before W2's are likely out. His W2 came out the first week of February. My initial thinking is to wait until our taxes have been filed etc before starting ROC to avoid an RFE HOWEVER so many people here agree to send in ROC when that 90 day window starts as does the USCIS instructions (I think). Is a week or two after 90 day opening going to matter? 

 

P.S. Always nice to see someone else from Nicaragua on here!

My GUESS is that a week or two won't hurt. Just don't wait until your green card has a month to expire I think is why USCIS has the whole 90 day thing...buuuuuut I was hoping someone here would have some more concrete insight
