K1 Documents for I-129F Petition Package

Hello,

 

My question: Is it legal to list another person's address, more specifically their residence and mailing addresses, if they are a friend? There are many documents in the I-129F petition package that have a place to include an address. As my boyfriend and I are not at that residence, can it still be stated as the current residence? Thank you!

 

This particular address is most convenience for us and will help in the process.

You can list whatever mailing address that you want, AFAIK. However, you must list your residence as your current residence. Anything else would be a lie, and you do not want to lie to USCIS in any form.

To clarify, does residence on legal documents mean any and all places that I have stayed in the last five years? Even for a very short stay of a matter of weeks to months?

 

This would mean temporary residence. Are non-permanent residencies included alongside the permanent residencies? Thanks again!

It means all places in the last 5 years for which you have claimed residency. Without going down the dark hole of the legal definition of residency...did you have an obligation attached to that address (lease, utilities, etc.)? Could somebody legally kick you out without requiring an eviction process? Staying at a friend's house for a week or 2 would generally not constitute residency. Staying there a couple months usually would. The main thing is to not lie...you can always explain something on a supplemental attachment if you desire.

 

What forms require an address other than the I-129F (which asks for a mailing address) and the G-325As for you and your fiance (which explicitly asks for all residences within the past 5 years)?
