Australia Medical- No Vaccination Records!

Hi all!  Sorry- it wouldn't let me post in the Australian portal only...

 

I am in the process of the K1 application and my case has landed at the Sydney consulate, so I need to register and find out everything I need to do now...

 

However I've been delaying as I know I need vaccination proof for the medical- and I've discovered that the family doctor I saw my whole life for all my childhood vaccinations has lost all my records!

 

Can anyone please let me know exactly what vaccinations I would need to have/have proof of for the medical, as a 36 yr old female?

 

I would like to sort as much as possible out somehow before I go to the medical- but I'm getting a bit confused with all the information and don't want to miss anything.  I saw someone mentioned they got records from their local council, but mine just directs me to the Medicare register and they say they have nothing on me.

 

Any help would be hugely appreciated!!  Thanks for being such a wonderful resource!

I don't know what it's like for Australia, but for Sweden, we had an option to do blood test to see if we still had the antibodies the vaccinations provided with. See if that's an option for you :)

 

Also, good luck on your interview! Colorado is a beautiful and awesome state! Maybe we could be friends, haha!

I had no records either - however - you can ask your GP to take bloods and see which antibodies you have.

 

Your GP can then vaccinate with whatever you're missing - then get your GP to give you a copy of your antibody blood work results, and take a medical certificate with whatever vaccinations you had to your medical appointment.

 

Or, as my Medical Doctor told me, they can just vaccinate you on the day! (Vaccines are an additional cost on top of the medical). I saw Dr Celina Rappaport at George Street Medical (Sydney), she was great! ... 

The Dr. told me vaccinations are not required as the K1 process, but ARE required in the AOS process - HOWEVER - it will be easier to have all your vaccines done and your medical marked as COMPLETE before you leave AUS, otherwise you'll be seeing a Dr over here to get it done...

11/07/18....  N-400 Interview Scheduled (technology issue on the day forced us to reschedule appt)

11/09/18....  N-400 Interview - Take 2 - APPROVED!

11/09/18....  Oath Ceremony - *I am now a citizen!*

--- 136days, or 4 months and 14 days from application to Oath ---

Karlzy- what vaccinations MUST you have?  Just need to know what to ask the doctor to test for/vaccinate.

Yup that's why I did too. I brought the results of my blood tests to my medical :)

You will likely need boosters for many of these vaccinations. I am American and work in Health Care and everytime I take a position at a hospital I need either proof of vaccines or boosters on these common vaccinations. Typically MMR  (mumps, Measles and Rubella) booster, I don't need the chickenpox vaccine because I had it when I was a child (I am 33 years old and it's a new vaccine), and tetanus you should get every 10 years (most people end up getting it updated when they step on a nail or something similar).

 

When they do the blood test, they will likely supply you with what you need.

 

In america, school systems will also have your medical records, you can check in with them if they still carry your student records.   

 

They will require you get a chest X-ray to rule out tuberculosis. Since the PPDs are not always reliable, which is what I get yearly in health care.  

 

My fiance just did this last month without his medical records and it was fine. But I did tell him to make sure he has a copy to bring to the US since he will be needing them in the future.
