Mailing the application

Hello, I am about to mail my application. I plan to mail the package with return receipt / delivery confirmation by USPS

I saw that there 2 options for the delivery address: one is to send to a PO Box and the other one is to an actual address for USCIS.

Which one usually enable a better processing time? I guess knowing that I am requesting a delivering confirmation, I have no choice but to send to the actual address, correct?

Just to be on the safe side :-)

Dan

The first address listed with the PO Box is the one to use for USPS regular first class, and USPS priority first class mail. The other street address is for express delivery by USPS express mail, FedEx, UPS *delivery services", etc.

Throughout our immigration journey we have successfully used USPS priority mail (sent to the PO Box) with receipt return/delivery confirmation, and have had no problems. (Probably could have taken my wife out to dinner on the price difference in prices.) The time difference in delivery was of little consequence for us, the paperwork is likely delivered to a large warehouse where it will sit for some time until the overworked USCIS minions get around to it.

All of those addresses end up at a USCIS Lockbox facility. FedEx and UPS cannot deliver to a PO box, hence the "express" (as in Federal "Express") delivery address.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

(Sorry for the quote problems, the first quote is for states in the first set, the second quote is for the rest indicated.)

It seems they have just changed the delivery options. I was planning on using USPS Express Next Day service, however, now USCIS says the other address (non-PO box) is only ok for Fedex, UPS and DHL. Now I am confused as to which I am supposed to send it to with the USPS Express?

In my mind, USPS Express is the same as Fedex, UPS, etc.

Does anyone have any thoughts? See below..

anyone still here?

I used USPS priority mail 1-3 business days with tracking number and mailed it to "USCIS Attn: N-400 2501 S State Hwy 121 Business Suite 400 Lewisville, TX 75067".

I saw USCIS mentioned if you use USPS, then don't mail to the above address. U should mail it too USCIS P.O. Box 660060 Dallas, TX 75266.

Will USPS return  my package? Whats gonna happen?

BTW, I just tracked my package, now they saying expected delivery date is Jan 4, bc of the holiday? TAKE that long?

Thank you in advance and Happy New Year!
