Hi there,

we did the same, sponsor me on assets only, except I was the one working and my USC husband stayed home :)

1. You don't need to add your name, but it might be "tidier"; if you have little other financial co-mingling, the CO may wonder why not (depends a lot on the embassy you are going through- some won't care).

2. Yes, definitely list that. When using assets only, embassies often prefer you to be comfortably over, and this sounds like steady income.

Sorry to bump this, I plan on using only assets (in my US account) as well since I am working overseas so when we move back the income will stop. As far as domicile goes back in the US, my name is also listed along with my mother's name back in the states. However, payments are still being made on the house. Would it be a problem?

Having a mortgage on the house is fine, most people do. However, part-owning a home may not be enough to proof domicile, especially if you have been arbaod a while. What other proof do you have, such as bills in your name, US bank account, furniture in storage, valid drivers license etc?

You need to make sure you really prove domicile. You should make sure if you have something that proves it you send it. Do not be afraid too send too much.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.

Just my US bank account, valid drivers license and debit card, and the mortgage bills that are being paid under my name starting this year.

It may be enough, but some US embassies are a lot pickier than others.

Which country are you based in, ie where will your spouse interview?

How often do you visit the US currently?

Have you made any plans for moving back in terms of looking for a job, enrolling any kids you have in school etc?

Seoul, South Korea.

At least once every year or two.

Yeah, I'm obviously planning on getting a job when I go back. Currently no kids, only been married for 2 years.
