Hi

I need some info.does social security retirement income can b use as joint sponsor . A man took 6600$ monthly from social security retirement income,his age is above 60 .he was at good job in Interpol when he was younng and untill retirement.he dont pay taxes as i talk to him he said he doesn't have to b cos he worked all life and now he took retirement money. Is it true???? Can u tell with verification letter from social security what whould we sent to embasy CO to satisfied about most recent tax return as our interview is done allready. Our case required joint sponsor.

Yes, SS retirement income can be counted. Document with the benefit declaration from Social Security. However, I'm pretty sure nobody has $6,600 a MONTH in SS income. One could have that much in non-taxable income but not in SS income alone.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

He told he worked in interpol. But u guys knows better.

He could be correctly stating his retirement income, and there's just a misunderstanding about the sources. He'll have to document all sources of current income, on any affidavit of support.
