Hello everyone, i have a question. I am in the Collecting financial and supporting documents stage. Can I get an IRS tax transcript, federal income tax returns, form w2 and social security earnings statement even if I am working 5months only in the states? Thank you so much in advance!

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you need to have filed a return in the first place to obtain transcripts? Considering you only have 5 months of work time here?

As a US citizen should you not have been filing taxes every year anyway or was your income such that it did not meet minimum thresholds?

Yeah. I did not file taxes or anything. Because I just arrived here in June this year. And I just started working June 29. So what should I do if I cannot obtain those taxes forms? Thank you.

So are you the US Citizen or are you the beneficiary? If you are the beneficiary, in what status did you enter the US?

If the US citizen did not file tax returns, the only acceptable reason for that would be because of low enough income thresholds. Which means you'd have to have a joint sponsor.

As far as tax documents, you will not be able to get anything for you personally until you submit taxes in January, if you have only been in the US since June. The form w-2 comes at the end of the year, to be filed with the taxes.

This is dead wrong. Tax Return Transcripts are available only AFTER a Tax Return has been filed.
