Non-US resident to pay for US trip

Hi! I am writing in behalf of my sister in the Phils. My question is, can my parents who are non-US residents pay for my sister's trip? in the question "PERSON/ENTITY PAYING FOR THE TRIP" can she choose "Other Person" and declare our Dad who would sponsor for the trip?

I have the assumption that only US relatives can be declared as "sponsors."

My sister's monthly income is not so much so she wants my Dad who is an OFW to be her sponsor.

appreciate your advice. thank you.

In theory, anyone could "sponsor" (pay for) her trip. However, her not being able to pay for it herself would make it more difficult to obtain the tourist visa.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Are you referring to your sister's visitor visa? If so the there is no sponsoring of visitor visas.

Anyone can pay for the trip. But as stated, often times it is looked as a res flag especially if the visitor has a close relative in the US.
