Ok my wife and I are wanting to go back to Philippines for a few months, specially be there for Christmas, we filed AOS may2,from k1, she got her EAD/AP card aug 3. Now, USCIS website still say only fingerprint fee received and NBC is working on our case.the 485.

its my understanding NBC does not process 485? so where is it, they must processed our case and made sure its all correct to issue the EAD/AP, so do they forward the case on to a service center? we are in the very northeast corner of south Dakota so I guess st paul would be service center. the other worry, if we go using her AP, we will have someone check our mail, for either interview appt. or GC. , is there a way to know if theres a interview waiver?

if we do go and we get interview theres 2 options maybe, fly home,, or reschedule interview? we really wanna go and I would love to get tickets! any answers to my questions or advise will be greatly appreciated

by the way a call to USCIS was a waste of time.

Call USCIS ask to be transferred to a tier 2... once transferred ask them "Is my case still at NBC or has it been transferred to a local office yet?" they will put you on hold and be able to tell you if its at NBC or been transferred to a local office... FYI if your case is at a local office that still doesnt give an indication of when your interview will be so as for an estimated time frame you may be none the wiser

Moslund, thanks! talked to teir 2, got answers, they said it was sent to philly or somewhere out east, and there will be no interview, just wait for them to process the documents and card, they also said we can and should enjoy our Christmas in the Philippines as there will be no scheduled interview, and her AP will be just fine, even if we are gone while the green card comes they assured that she will have no issue re entering on her AP, the woman we had talk to at USCIS was really helpful and very nice yeahhhhhhh
