Job offer - How long until getting work authorization?

Hello,

I did my biometrics 2 days ago and I got a job offer today! The company is asking when I could potentially start to work so I called the USCIS and said that I had a job offer. The guy just said that he could not give me any information about when I would be likely to get my work permit...

However, I heard that some people were actually able to speed up the process for their work permit by having a job offer.

-Let me know if you have been in the same situation and what did you do?

-Should I try to call again to get another person on the phone or is there something specific to say when explaining the situation to them?

-How long did you have to wait for your work permit after getting your biometrics done?

Thank you for your help!

As far as I am aware, once you sent the I-765 you should be receiving the work permit in around 90 days.

You can expedite your EAD based on loss of income, showing your job offer as proof. Not guaranteed, but many success stories with that reported. You want to push the buttons for expedite based on financial loss.
