When USCIS sends an RFE does the online case status change to reflect that an RFE was sent? Or does the status remain the same?

No, the status will be change when you got approve. If you would like to know about case call and ask for Tier 2 offficer

I called last week and put in a Service Request. They told me to wait two weeks.

Eight (8) months of patient waiting after petition submission, we finally received an RFE. I gave up on the online status system it was pretty worthless. It took us a couple of weeks to comply with the RFE and submit the evidence, we were approved about a month later.

YMMV.

Sunshinestate2013, I was approved without RFE or interview when my case hit 7.5 months (235 days to be exact). Most of the filers from my month had already been approved and I was one of the last ones left. I see a lot of people in your month approved but don't lose hope or think you're for sure getting an RFE just yet. USCIS works in the strangest of ways.
