My fiancé and I have gathered everything to send our first packet. We've been following the steps from this forum, although one thing is confusing us. The immigration fee, the 165$, we read that it HAS to be paid online, yet on visajourney we read that we can put a check in our packet? Which one is right?

The I 129F petition fee is $340. You should send the check or money order with the packet.

K1 visa application fee is $265. You should look at Embassy specific topics to see where/how to pay it.

I'm not sure what fee cost $165

You do not pay the $165 fee. That's for green card production for green card upon arrival. K1 have to adjust their status to get a green card.

You pay $340 for the petition

and later you will pay $265 for the non-immigrant visa application. (DS-160)

Once you arrive in the USA and are married, you will pay $1070 to adjust your status to get the green card.
