Visa Status during status change

Hi guys, I need an advice on my situation.

I entered US on a B1/B2 visa, with expiration date on September 15. In June, I applied for a I539 status change to F1 student visa.

As of now, the status change has not been approved yet, and I was wondering if I have the option of submitting another I539 status change to F2 instead.

I know that my B1/B2 status is still valid due to the I539 still in process, but since it is past the original expiration date of Sep 15, am I still able to file another I539?

You are no longer in B status, and you have to be in status to change status.

When does your course start?

You can no longer file for a new F2 as you are now out of status, as Boiler pointed out.
