Hi!

my fiancee and I will be getting married in the Bay Area as soon as I am back in the US. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with getting the marriage licence and certificate, and had advice on the quickest ways to do so?

We are currently looking at the Santa Clara County Recorders Office, as you can get the licence and have an express ceremony in one day, however I cannot find any info on whether the certificate will be issued there and then.

As we will be immediately filing for AOS/EAD, we really need to find a way to ensure we have the certificate in hand right away!

Our ceremony officiant signed the marriage license after the ceremony and gave it to us. 3 days later we took it down to the courthouse and was given our marriage certificate within minutes. Call your county clerk of courts to see if you can turn in your license or if the officiant has to. Then ask if you can get the marriage certificate on that same day.
