You all are exactly right. The exchange rate has gotten worse and worse which really isn't a surprise because of everything going on. And thinking about it in USD makes the number more bearable! Thank you for your perspectives!

It seems that way. I try to look at it in American dollors so I don't freak out about the price. But everything cost more than it State on Embassy web page. It States pay interview cost is 39800 but he paid 888,700 something like that .

Okay not N888,700 LOL people would say Heck naw to immigrating.

The medical at Children's costs N90,050 to get through the door to see a doctor for the basic examination, and that is not including vaccines. Everyone gets an xray and most are told they have extremely high blood pressure. The vaccines and an extra blood test (to test kidney functioning because of the high blood pressure diagnosed after taking blood pressure at one time on one day during a stressful appointment) make the total medical cost for us N120,000. At least it is done. ?

I told this to someone who will be having their medical within the next month or so and he thinks we are all lying. He told me I have no idea what I am talking about that he was told medicals are just N15,050 plus shots (the old prices). Because a friend had there's in early September.

So I will love to hear from him if he be honest when he finally gets his medical.

Like why would be lie and inflate the price for what.

I thank everyone here keep reporting. I appreciate this input.

Wow, the cost is right there. So, now at least people will not be caught off guard.

Another helpful fact is that there is a bank close by where you take your payment, pay, then get a receipt to bring back to Children's to show that you have paid.

WOW! This is so expensive. Nigeria is expensive, I didn't believe my fiance how expensive is it until I visited there. And 2 weeks waiting for the results, they do it longer, more expensive and more difficult. I hope with all these conditions the US embassy in Nigeria understands we all are very serious about our fiance(e) and marriage plans
