You're making your case complicated. She's born here to a filipino parent. NSO/PSA birth pcertificate is all you need to apply for philippine Passport.

And also from my experience here and things that I've learned is everytime you're dealing with goverment transaction. You have to be dilligent, be cautious all the time and most importantly patience (a very loooong one). Don't trust on everything that they told/say to you, Sometimes they'll lie to you, sometimes there are rude, snobbish employees, sometimes they'll ignore you even if they can see you from there window/s waiting. They'll passed you on to different offices,windows, places. I prefer going in personalky rather than just calling or expect to be transferred to different lines. . They do these just to get rid of you. So before you act on this do more reasearch..

Who told you these? You're getting wrong info. SHE'S IS BORN HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES TO A FILIPINO CITIZEN MOTHER, she is NOT A FOREIGN NATIONAL, the crba part is what you shoukd be worried on but you got that one straightened up already. You're all good. No need to worry about overstsying fee.

I understand your anxiety here. I already got my visa. I couldn't leave yet because I don't want to leave my daughter. Like i've said it took me 2yrs to get all her papers in order.

But I saw that on the dfa website same with the immigration. You mean you already applied your daughter the recognition ? until now you still didnt receive the certificate?

I already inquired BI and they said she already consider foreign national since she's holding US passport and she got her CRBA certificate already. In the DFA she needs to get that IC from the immigration before she can apply for passport since she already drop her filipino citizenship.

Ok, so you said your daughter is born HERE in fhe philippines and your a filipina then you do no need to do the recognition of filipino citizenship for her. Did you register her birth to your local civil registrar office (place wherecshe was born)? Is yes then she should have a record of birth in NSO. If not then apply for late registration of birth in your hometown. Just get her a philippine passport. We are in the same situation my daughter have overstayed here for 4yrs now, we also wanted to waived overstaying fees BUT in your case your daughter did not overstsayed here bec. she was born here.

According to Bureau of Immigration they still have to complete recognition of citizenship being the child is also a U.S. citizen

Hello , i am a filipina and my son was born here.. We applied for crba 2015 and got his passport february of 2016. Now we got our visa and planning to migrate soon .. I went to Bi to ask about the emigration clearance certificate so he can exit the country.. and what got me surprise was is the fee i was told that i need to pay 13k or more for him staying here, he is only 2 years old . Now i am planning to get him a phil passport , is it okay to do it? so i wont need to pay the ecc fee that cost way more than getting a phil passport..

It is a very good idea to get the Philippine passport to avoid paying the ECC fee.

You will need to complete the Recognition process for your son before you can get a Philippine passport for your son.

Hi Aila, what was the result with your daughter if you was required to apply recognition of Filipino Citizen? I have 5 and 4 years old sons born here in the Philippines. Of course they got US passports via CRBA when they were babies. Now, I have been reading the requirement to apply recognition FIRST before I could apply Philippine passports for my sons to avoid overstaying fees of course  Your help would be appreciated! Thanks!
