Hello, I've posted related topics to this but wanted to wait until we received a reply from the Guangzhou consulate before asking for help.

The Guangzhou consulate requires my fiancée to submit an Iranian police certificate. The follow up to our email after the interview was to provide documentation that attempts were made. What's frustrating is that the reciprocity schedule seems to indicate that the police certificate from Iran is not needed. It also says they are obtainableasy, which is the part Guangzhou sees.

She applied for this pc before we received a noa2 and she has made multiple attempts to track the item via personal calls. Her countries bureaucracy is not like others. It has no method of tracking and no reason to care. All she has done is anger the persons responsible for this type of correspondence to the point of anger where she was being yelled at. She even has a contact at the embassy that has made personal inquiries and has received the same answers.

My fiancée has printed out a call log dating back to her application, a consulate contact information page with the number she has called, and has gone through the call log and hilighted said number. Her government issues no receipt other than the receipt she has received for fingerprinting. She plans on sending these in along with her passport.

There is no guarantee that this police certificate will ever be issued regardless of the amount of times applied or phone calls placed. Each additional application costs her a lot of money and adds 3 months wait, at best, to this process, ensuring that she will have to retake the medical.

What's worse is that according to fellow vj members Ankara, the consulate most Iranians interview at, does not require the police certificate!

My question is, given the provided information in this post, should we send what we have or contact the senator before we could receive a rejection?

Thanks in advance for your help or for the read. Have a good day.

Though your commentary is speaking about the US Consulate in Guangzhou. USCIS maintains a Field Office in the Guangzhou consulate and that is likely who you are dealing with. US Senators/Representative from the legislative branch of the US government are not likely to be able to do much, except pat you on the hand. You need someone with some authority from the executive branch of the US government. Perhaps you should try to contact the CIS Ombudsman?

HTH,

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Interesting. Thanks for the tip! I was wondering if anyone would reply!

Do you think it is a good angle to pursue the fact that Ankara does not require one from Iranian beneficiaries?

Interesting. Thanks for the tip! I was wondering if anyone would reply! They will reply. We used CISOMB in our struggle with the persnickety USCIS adjudicators at CSC during our ROS processes.

Do you think it is a good angle to pursue the fact that Ankara does not require one from Iranian beneficiaries? Dunno, mention it when your present your case in your application to CISOMB.

Good luck, sounds like it is worth a try?

Hello again. I just got off the phone with NVC and inquired about the ombudsman. He suggested the State Department Inspector General if the consulate won't budge.

As it stands we will provide call logs with the number of the Iranian consulate highlighted, a print out of the consulate webpage showing the number to call for inquiries, and the receipt for the finger prints she was required to do to require the document. That is all we have! (They also requested to send in the passport, this is scary to us as it could take months and she may have to travel within China and you must have a passport to do so).

Thanks again, Pitaya!

Citic Bank told us it would be two weeks until the passport would be delivered but it has arrived at the consulate today.

We both are so nervous.
