I-134 Question

Hi! I'm hoping people who have already done this process can give some advice since I'm getting mixed answers. Since my mom is co-sponsoring my fiance, she needs to fill out an affidavit of support, this I know. But do I have to as well? Some say yes and some say no. Also, do we need IRS tax transcripts? We have everything else we need just not those and it doesn't specifically say to get those on the instructions for the form. Thanks- Ally

Get your IRS transcripts at any IRS office same day you walk in and ask

They are required at the interview

You are the PRIMARY sponsor NO MATTER WHAT. You will fill out your own I-134 and your mother will fill out her own I-134.

Even if you make 0 dollars, you as the primary sponsor will always fill out a I-134.

Some might be saying don't worry about the I-134 because London is a lax embassy, but YES fill out an I-134.

Tax transcripts are the best form of financial proof you can provide but they aren't required. Not having IRS transcripts won't ruin everything for you AS LONG as you have OTHER acceptable proof.

The best proof is:

1 Tax transcripts

OR

2 Tax return and W2 combo. (Tax Return AND the supporting W2s)
Paystubs from job
Employer letter from job stating your job, time since being hired, and projected annual salary.

We succesfully K-1'd and AOS'd using NO tax transcripts. Myself as primary sponsor, 2 cosponsors for K-1 (rare but it happens), and myself as primary and one cosponsor for AOS. No tax transcripts.

As a final note, you may do better by asking these questions in the original threads you make. You're more likely going to get bad advice across multiple threads, than one thread as people will come in one thread and correct each other, but most people won't bother if they see the poster asking the same question over multiple threads.

Well darn. You found the UK forum and are still getting answers from other countries. Read this thread. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/605532-i134-questions/?p=8259288 I commented on the I-134. Then the post after mine from Tom confirms he interviewed last month in LONDON and did not have to have an I-134 from his fiancé. Hope that assures you. I know of dozens and dozens who did not have to have two I-134s.

Then the post after mine from Tom confirms he interviewed last month in LONDON and did not have to have an I-134 from his fiancé. Hope that assures you. I know of dozens and dozens who did not have to have two I-134s.

For years people have been fine in London not checking either box just like the VJ sample form says and writing on the lines:

N/A (K1 VISA PROCESS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE)
